Philip Rushton
FOUNDER
Philip Rushton is from Liverpool. Philip holds bachelors degrees in philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (2007) and divinity from the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham (2014). Philip also holds a masters degree in theoretical physics from Durham University (1999) and a PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics, also from Durham (2002). Philip has written dissertations on quantum chaos and the beauty of God.
While his (departmental award-winning) doctoral research made a lasting contribution in the field of computational many-body quantum mechanics in condensed matter physics, you can view Philip's doctoral thesis here.
Between 2002 and 2005, Philip worked as a technical consultant for Detica, now BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, which involved working in the United States.
The image of the Holy Trinity in the cell
The story of a unique scientific discovery
The image of the Holy Trinity was discovered by Philip Rushton whilst training for the priesthood at the Venerable English College in Rome. Whilst studying philosophy in 2006, Philip was confronted with the profound question, what is life?
Philip had never considered the problem of life before, and he couldn't understand why it was such a difficult problem for science to solve. This drove Philip to investigate the problem of life in his spare time, in the meantime he completed the course on philosophy, and progressed on to theology.
The first topic he studied in theology was the foundation of Christianity: the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. With the problem of life and the Holy Trinity simultaneously swirling around in his head, Philip noticed an unmistakable connection between the three informational macromolecules - DNA, RNA and protein - and the doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
Philip knew almost straight away he had discovered the answer to life, however, this was only a gut-feeling, and it would take many years to prove this in a thoroughly scientific way. So far, after almost twenty years of painstaking research, Philip's initial gut-feeling has proven to be right. In July 2025, TRINITY in BIOLOGY was officially released to the general public.
